"Win the value of your next Samsung contract" Prize Draw Terms

All prize draw entrants will be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions and deemed to have agreed to be bound by them when entering this prize draw.

1. The promoter of this prize draw is AO Retail Limited trading as Mobile Phones Direct. AO Park, 5a The Parklands, Lostock, Bolton, BL6 4SD (“Promoter/AO/us/our/we”).
2. All customers who have received a promotional email from AO are eligible for a single entry into the prize draw. Entry shall be via the entry mechanism shown in the promotional email.
3. Each person who purchases a new contract from the www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk website during 00:00 10th June 2024 - 23:59 on 9th July 2024 will automatically be entered into the prize draw.
4. 10 winners will be chosen to win 1 prize each. Each prize is a cash payment of the value of a new Samsung contract up to £1000.  For these purposes, the value of contract means your monthly line rental x 24months, in any event not exceeding £1000.  The prize does not include payment for any out-of-bundle charges (e.g., roaming or additional calls/data) or for any up-front charges paid for your device.  For the purpose of the calculation, the monthly line rental amount is taken at point of sale and will not be adjusted for any in-contract price rises imposed by the network operator (i.e., RPI/CPI inflation).  The amount calculated on the above basis is the full extent of the prize irrespective of any personal tax liabilities that may arise as a result of receiving the prize.
5. 10 winners will be chosen to win 1 prize each. Each prize is a cash payment of the value of a new Samsung contract up to £1000. For these purposes, the value of contract means your monthly line rental x 24 months, in any event not exceeding £1000. The prize does not include payment for any out-of-bundle charges (e.g., roaming or additional calls/data) or for any up-front charges paid for your device. 6. Prize draw details, including details of method(s) of entry, published on Our website(s), shown in promotional emails sent by AO and/or shown on AO’s official social media pages, form part of these terms and conditions.
7. The prize draw is open for entry until 23:59 on 9th July 2024, after which time the winners will be randomly selected.
8. All prize draw entrants must be aged 18 or over.
9. Entry is open to residents of the UK excluding Channel Islands or the Isle of Man, except employees (and their families) of AO, the suppliers of the prize(s) and any other companies associated with either AO or the prize draw. Please note that, whilst AO offers home delivery to UK postcodes (excluding the Scottish Highlands, Scottish Islands, Channel Islands, the Isle of Man or the Republic of Ireland) certain products cannot be delivered to certain parts of Northern Ireland. 10. Ten winners will be selected at random from all eligible entries.
11. Winner(s) will be notified via email no later than 31st July 2024.
12. Should the person selected be a previous winner from the last 6 months, the promoter reserves the right to select another winner.
13. A winner will have 14 days to claim their prize by replying to the notification sent to them in accordance with paragraph 10 above, failure to claim within this time period could result in loss of prize. AO will not be responsible for delay caused by third parties.
14. A winner will forfeit their prize if the network operator confirms that they have not paid one or more of their first three monthly bills in satisfaction of condition 3[d] above. Under these circumstances the prize will be awarded to a substitute winner, which shall be the next entry selected at random.
15. Each entrant must enter their details to be in with a chance to win. For fulfilment purposes, additional winner details will be required, which will include full name, postal address, email, telephone number and bank details. In the event that a winner fails to provide necessary details, is unreachable, is ineligible or fails to claim the prize within the period stated at paragraph 12 above, the winner shall forfeit the prize and it will be awarded to a substitute winner, which shall be the next entry selected at random.
16. The prize will be paid via bank transfer into a bank account in the name of the winner between 120 and 180 days after delivery of the handset, to allow sufficient time for the Promoter to validate successful bill payments with the relevant network operator (in accordance with condition 3[d] and paragraph 13 above). Failure by the winner to provide verifiable bank details in their name within this time-period shall mean the prize is forfeited.
17. The Promoter’s decision is final and binding in all respects on all entrants. No correspondence will be entered into. Entries that do not comply in full with these terms and conditions will be disqualified.
18. The prize is as offered when the winner is contacted and no other alternatives will be offered. The prize is non-refundable and non-transferable.
19. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equivalent or greater monetary value if this is necessary where there are limitations on the products the Promoter is able to deliver to the address the winner has provided and/or for reasons beyond the Promoter’s control.
20. Except in the case of death or personal injury arising from its negligence or in respect of fraud and so far as is permitted by law, the Promoter and its associated companies exclude responsibility and all liabilities: arising out of any postponement, cancellation, delay or changes to the prize draw or to the prize details beyond the Promoter’s control; for any act or default of any third party supplier; and/or for any claims, costs, injuries, loss or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the prize draw or with acceptance, possession or use of any prize.
21. The Promoter will not be liable for any prize(s) that do not reach the winner for reasons beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control.
22. The winner’s name and address will be retained on a winner’s log. The winner agrees to the use of their name, location and will co-operate with any other reasonable requests by the Promoter.
23. Use of a false name or details will result in disqualification.
24. All entries must be made directly by the person entering the prize draw, no group, mass or software entries will be accepted.
25. Entries made online using methods generated by a script, macro or the use of automated devices will be void.
26. No responsibility can be accepted for entries lost, delayed or corrupted, or due to computer, network or software failure which may restrict or delay entry.
27. The Promoter may refuse or disqualify any entry (including winning entries) if the entrant concerned or anyone authorised by the entrant to deal with their entry, acts in a way towards the Promoter which the Promoter reasonably considers to be inappropriate, unlawful or offensive. If the winning entry is disqualified the Promoter reserves the right to award the prize to another entrant.
28. Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions and agreed to be bound by them when entering this prize draw.
29. AO may use information, including personal data, submitted by entrants in connection with this prize draw in accordance with our Privacy Policy which is available to view here or here and contains information about your legal rights.
30. The Promoter reserves the right to amend or alter these terms at any time (acting reasonably) and to reject entries from entrants not entering into the spirit of the prize draw.
31. The prize draw may be modified or withdrawn at any time.
32. This prize draw, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it, shall be governed and construed in accordance with English law. Each entrant irrevocably agrees that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim that arises out of or in connection with this Promotion.
